Google Places replaced Google Local Business Center back in 2010. Place Pages are the business listing pages that are found in Google local searches. These pages generally contain information about a particular business such as address, phone number, reviews, images, and other important information that the business adds after they claim their listing.
Having a Google Place ranking will become more important, as more emphasis is placed on local searches. So the first 'place' to start is to make sure that:
- You have claimed your Google Place
- Once claimed, make sure it is set up with all the correct details.

As well as being able to enter your business details, you can, via the Google Places dashboard, see visitor trends, edit your listing, upload photographs etc.
