Creative Web Design

Creative Web Design

The internet is a fast paced, ever evolving environment. At Servon Design we are constantly evolving our designs to fit within the dynamic dimensions of the internet.

We have a range of areas we look at when designing; imagery, typography, sound, colour along with target audience, market, aims, usability, interactivity and growth. We create designs that fit within the company's brand image and its goals.

As web designers, our job is to communicate ideas effectively. We create a visual idea in which to convey a message, guiding users to achieving their tasks, gaining their trust or convincing them of whatever is being communicated.

Modern Web design is better, richer and more user-friendly. We’re seeing better use of visual design for the sake of aesthetics and a pleasing user experience.

Traditional techniques from print design are increasingly being applied to the Web, be they layout techniques or rich versatile typography.

With our knowledge and skill set Servon Design are well placed to take advantage of the latest web design techniques, enabling all of our clients to benefit fully. Call us on 0845 1308176 to discuss your project or ideas.

Usability Design

It is critical that any corporate collateral that you employ in your business, whether its your website, an online software application or simply an html email is designed around the requirements of your users.

Usability should be at the forefront of any design, otherwise the very people you are trying to attract to your product or service will just not engage. For example, however great you may think your website looks, If it’s difficult to use or people just don’t get what you do….then people won’t come back.

Usability Design

Good design is not just about how cool a website or html emailer looks, its about communicating the overall message, in a fast, effective way, in order that the end goal is reached without confusion or frustration.

There’s no doubt that the web is a powerful resource. But very few have the creative and technical knowledge needed to help you fully exploit it for the benefit of your business....at Servon Design, we have.

Animation

JW Player goes here

Although static graphics are generally much easier to scan and therefore can be easily perceived, motion graphics bring dynamics and life into otherwise static content. Animation can help to convey a deeper meaning with the use of various animated techniques.

Animation can also provide better data visualisation than static graphics. How and where animation is used in real-life situations is an endless possibility, its normally down to a designers abilities to express themselves, and the knowledge of how to do it.
Motion graphics are on the whole created using digital techniques; but also traditional animation and special effects techniques are used. Digital techniques help to minimise production costs and achieve great results with less effort.

Animation can be used in many different formats to help you market your business. We have experience in creating 3D Animation, Product Modelling, Promotional DVD's, Presentations, Video production, Virtual Tours and Flash Animation.

Photography

The use of photography in graphic design had its birth way long ago, back in late 1920's, when Herbert Bayer, after leaving Bauhaus school, where he was the teacher of "Print and advertising Workshop", started to study the interconnections between "advertising science" & psychology.

He started then to integrate photos in his work, with montages and screens, in order to give more dynamics and expressiveness to his creations and make of them what he called "an architectural framework".
Those really were first photo montages of graphic design history.

In our days, with the use of computer graphics the use of pictures in any kind of job is a must.

logo & branding

Logo & Branding

To understand what a logo is, we first must understand what the main purpose of a logo is.

The design process must aim to make the logo immediately recognisable, inspiring trust, admiration, loyalty and an implied superiority. The logo is one aspect of a company's commercial brand or economic entity, and its shapes, colours, fonts, and images usually are strikingly different from other logo's in the same market niche. Logos are used to identify.

Paul Rand, one of the world's greatest designers states that "a logo is a flag, a signature, an escutcheon, a street sign. A logo does not sell (directly), it identifies. A logo is rarely a description of a business. A logo derives meaning from the quality of the thing it symbolises, not the other way around. A logo is less important than the product it signifies; what it represents is more important than what it looks like. The subject matter of a logo can be almost anything."

Digital Prepress or Traditional Prepress

While design, document preparation, prepress, and printing can be viewed as separate areas, they are all intertwined. Prepress, using traditional methods or digital prepress, encompasses the entire process of taking a document from an idea to a final product.

Digital printing has come to the forefront in recent years with the inception of a number of online printing outlets that offer a streamlined print service that allows the uploading of documents and projects, process them for printing and delivers to your home or workplace. This cuts out the overheads and enables these type of print solutions to offer a robust and affordable service.
